When the “L” family called to have me shoot at their new beach cottage with a Model T garage, I have to say I got very excited. I really enjoy it when people want to shoot in their own space – and in surroundings that mean something to them.  This cottage is a work in production,  however is being crafted lovingly by mom into a very creative and unique work space.  With items purchased from the old Biltmore Hotel along with it’s own vintage charm, it was a beautiful space.  Your portraits are turning out beautifully and I can’t wait for you to see the rest!

The next set contains one of my new favorite photos.  I told “A” to surprise mom and dad – I told mom and dad to “brace themselves”.  I am LOVING the result!!

Stay tuned!  I have a lot to blog about in the next few days!! It’s been a very busy fall!! :)

The holiday photo sessions are in full swing and I’m having a blast! I was so excited for the chance to do yet another session in Ybor City. It’s nice to venture out of Pinellas County and take in some new scenery!!  The “N” family is always up for adventure – and it’s so fun seeing little ones grow and change! Last time I photographed little miss “L” was her 2nd birthday. She has grown and changed so much since the last time I saw her!!  And Mr. “J” has really become a little ham for the camera!!

Here’s your sneak peak – I hope you enjoy!! It was so nice seeing you all again and I’ll have your full gallery up very soon!!

This is a session I have been SO EXCITED to do. To get downtown to Ybor City in Tampa and explore the alleyways and really fun architecture…..however, being in St. Petersburg, I don’t get the opportunity to go to Tampa as often as I would like.  I have been having the most difficult time going through the incredible amount of photos taken for the “P’ family. I usually don’t have such a difficult time widdling down to my very favorites, but I have to say, it’s tough this time!!  We had such a blast  -  we explored lots of new, exciting places to shoot and I have to say, I am in LOVE with this area. Literally every direction we turned, each spot was better than the last.

A, W, K and K – you guys were great. I can’t wait for you guys to see what I have in store for you – I’ve had to hold on to the very, very best for mom and dad’s gallery.

And a note to Dad – serving our country proudly in Iraq right now – I am so thankful for your service and all you are doing to protect us and this great country. God Bless you and your wonderful family while you are apart.

IMG 0587web Girlie Tomboy... {St. Petersburg Child Photography}This session was GREAT fun for me. Little miss “L” was just the perfect mix of girlie princess fun and take-your-shoes-off-and-run-in-the-dirt kind of girl. Seriously – she was SUCH a blast to photograph.  The whole family really was a pleasure.  When “L” saw the pettiskirts I had in my car, she got so excited – but went straight for the orange/pink mix. She is a girl who is not afraid of anything and not afraid to speak her mind. She had me laughing out loud many times.  Thank you so much S family for the chance to meet and photograph your family. It was such a pleasure. I hope you enjoy your sneak peak and I will have the rest of your images up shortly!

One of my favorite shows is “So You Think You Can Dance” on Fox. I absolutely LOVE this show and I’m EXCSTATIC it’s going to start up again on Wednesday.   I have no grace what.so.ever.  I took one year of dance when I was 5 and I remember thinking then how aweful I was!! That is probably why I have spent my life in awe of dancers. So in light of my lack of talent, it’s very surprising to me to have a daughter that absolutely LOVES dance  – and is not half bad at it either!  We attended the Nutcracker together last Christmas and I have to say it is a memory that I will treasure forever.

Ok enough of that – here’s the deal.

I would LOVE to have an entire dance section on my website. However, I don’t really know any dancers (besides the 8 and under crowd) to photograph. So this is where YOU come in. If you are a dancer between the ages of 16-20 and would like a custom portrait session, please give me a call. I am looking for 2 dancers in this category. I’m looking to schedule urban-style sessions in both costume attire as well as training attire.  I am offering a ridiculous rock-bottom session fee and will include free prints as well as incentives for referrals of new clients to Teresa Wilds Photography (dancers or otherwise).

I would ALSO like 2 younger (experienced) dancers – more in the age range of 11-14. The same offer as above will apply.  Please give me a call or email me at teresa@teresawildsphotography.com for more information. I hope to hear from you soon!

And because a post is just plain borrring without photographs, here are two photos of my own little dancer after her recital this summer…

This was one of those days we just didn’t think was going to happen.  A typical Florida summer afternoon – dark and gloomy, looking like rain. Days like these I spend watching the radar and second-guessing myself as to wether to reschedule or not. I’m so glad this time we went through with it. It’s these dark, gloomy afternoons that sometimes produce the prettiest skies at sunset.  This was one of those evenings – that perfect slightly overcast sky – but still sunny, reflective wet sand and a nice breeze. To top it off, I was able to meet this gorgeous, sweet family! S was such a character and had such a handsome smile. He’s really into Indiana Jones.  Keep an eye out for him in his Indy hat on my soon-to-be-released new website – it’s too cute for words!

Thanks W family for a wonderful evening. You will be recieving your portraits soon!

How did it happen?? It seems like yesterday I found out I was having a boy. I cried for two days, I’m embarassed to admit. I had no IDEA what to do with boys. I wanted Emma to have a sister she could grow close to – like I have. What if I wouldn’t be a good mom to a little boy???

Josh you have been the hugest blessing ever. I could have never imagined having a boy would mean so many things. The way you have touched my life is proof that God knows what He’s doing – and He knows what is best for us.

You drive me crazy. You can be the most stubborn, strong-willed kid on earth sometimes. You break things, you jump on things,  you use things in ways I wouldn’t ever think of. And these were the things about having a boy that I was afraid of. But now, all these things only endear me to you more.  I love your sense of adventure. I love how you look at things and see possibilities…You want to know how everything works – you have SUCH a zest for learning and for life. You make me laugh.  Not just a little laugh – you get me to laugh that deep down belly laugh with tears….I love that you enjoy making others laugh and be silly.  I love that we’re the only ones in our little family that ARE silly. Sure Daddy and Emma may look at us like we’re weird sometimes…but I just love those moments we share.

You are so precious to me…such a treasure. These past five years have been a surprise, a blessing, a heartache, an “oh pLEEEASE don’t break that”…  You ARE joy. I love you “all the way to the moon and the stars in the sky.” I’ll never forget your tiny little 1-year-old voice saying that to me at bedtime. I’ll love you always. Happy 5th birthday buddy.

Love, Mom.
